Model: Archer AX11000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.1 Build 20200716 rel.84595(4555)

Morning,

I have had this router for 6+ months now and it has performed well during that time.

Issue:

On several recent occasions, all three radios; 2.4 and both 5.0 went down then came back up again almost instantaneously:

  • 14.12.2020 - 13:14:24
  • 14.12.2020 - 22:36:16
  • 15:12.2020 - 18:50:00

During this blip there were ~30 devices connected; 7 via LAN and the remainder via 2.4 or 5.0. All devices except for two came back online without noticeable issue:

  • Device A (always on 5.0) - HP Envy 5030 Printer showed as connected in the client list and had an IP, but could not communicate with the network.
  • Device B (always on 2.4) - Alarm System dropped off the network

Power cycling of device A & B did not resolve the issue.

A reboot of the router saw all devices reconnect (including device A & B) until the next occurrence of this issue, where they exhibited the same connectivity issues.

Expected Behaviour(s):

  • Radios should main constant uptime
  • If there is a blip, all devices should be able to reconnect and communicate

@kwoolley

So the 7 devices connected to the AX11000 via LAN are stable with this drop? Except the HP Envy 5030 Printer and the Alarm System, are other wireless clients connecting to the internet automatically after the drop?

How about the internet LED on the AX11000, is it always green? BTW, who is your ISP?

If the internet is always green, and the LAN connection is always stable, you may try to modify the wireless settings onthe AX11000, such as changing the 2.4GHz wireless channel to 1/6/11, channel width to 20MHz; changing the 5GHz channel to a clear one as well, such as 44/48, channel width to 40MHz, then reboot the router and reconnect to the network to confirm.

You can also configure the Address Reservation for these two devices on the AX11000, below is the guide you may refer to:

@Kevin_Z

Thanks Kevin.

Correct, all LAN devices (4 x SkyQ, 1 x Hive, 1 x Apple TimeCapsule & 1 x TV) are stable. All other wireless clients connect to the network and internet fine after this blip. The printer remains on the network but is unreachable, the alarm system drops off entirely. The printer had a DHCP reservation and this made no difference.

I have only noticed this issue on the 3 occasions that I previously detailed, but I will continue to monitor.

The blip is momentary, a second or two - just enough for me to notice if I am on a video call. Given it is such a short blip, I am not able to monitor the status of the LEDs on the router.

I have BT FTTP 1Gbps.
