TP-Link Archer AX11000, built-in speed test not working properly
Hi,
I have been using the TP-Link AX11000 since March of last year, and I must say that I am very, very satisfied with its performance.
One glitch that I have observed, however, and one that carries over from firmware to firmware, is that the built-in speed test does not work properly. Namely, it reports download speeds of at maximum 600-700 Mbps, while any external speed test that I use on a hardwired computer gives correct speeds of 940 Mbps download and 60 Mbps upload, i.e. in-line with my internet plan.
My question is this: when does TP-Link plan to eliminate this error, for example by adding the option to choose different speed test servers?

Thank you for posting on the TP-Link Community.
We have reported this to the engineers, it seems the built-in server on the router is not the best to achieve the desired speed, sorry that there was no definitive information if or when this would be improved in the future. We will suggest you use the speedtest app or some other software to test the actual speed instead.
Have a nice day.

Thank you for your reply, much appreciated.
It would indeed be great if a choice of speed test servers was made available, because apart from this glitch - as I have said - the Archer AX11000 is an excellent router; the best I've ever had, and I have had quite a few.

Thank you very much for the high approval on the AX11000, we are happy to know that.
As for the suggestion about the built-in speed test, we have feedback to the related department, they will see how to improve it.
Have a nice day.

I want to add to this post as I have just noticed the same. Using the app, the speedtest provides different results than accessing via ip address or tplinkwifi.net
Using the app on android phone ALWAYS displays slower download speeds than actual. In fact the results almost appear to be backwards.
Anyone else notice this?

Hope the engineers get down to solving this.
