100 is my PC. 111 is my Phone. Both are permanent. 5, 3 and 4 are other devices like Chromebooks and phones, these are not permanent leases..

On my PC when this happens I lose internet and every packet sent trying to ping the local gateway is lost. On my Android device, every time the router does the OFFER/ACK cycle I lose internet connection or the ability to log in at the router, despite the WiFi connection being intact. For Android, the solution is to disable and enable the WiFi function in order to regain access until the next OFFER/ACK cycle. On PC, I have yet to find a solution.

This problem occurred recently for PC, and while thinking it was the QoS being the culprit, I just went ahead and factory reset the router. Everything was fine for a day or so before the issues started showing up again.

This happens regardless if a device has a static local IP or dynamic. I don't understand why the router is running ACK/OFFER on permanent leased IPs, but it does. I don't understand why the host name isn't found either.

It appears this problem gets worse as time goes by, the router more often runs these commands and over the next 3 weeks I expect to have to factory reset again. I've done a lot of digging but every article/forum post pertaining to these symptoms either has no responses or the solution is to install DD-WRT on the router. Now I really like TP-LINK's GUI, much better than that of DD-WRT. But if that's the only way I can get a reliable DHCP server, then I will install it.

I'm hoping someone here has had a similar issue, or knows what causes these symptoms so that I can continue using this GUI.

I've tried all suggestions here in the thread and nothing.

It is "great" that the TP-Link support do NOTHING to solve this problem... Thx!

Recommend me router from another brand.

Hello @Georgi681 and all,

If any of you observes and finds that there are 'DHCPS Lease hostname not found' error in the router system log, please take it easy. This specific log has nothing to do with any drops or disconnect behaviors as far as I can confirm.

When this error occurs, it simply means the router is not able to get the hostname of the client device which is connected to the network. But this doesn't mean the specific device will drop from the network or fail to connect. This mostly happens when the device is using a private or randomized MAC address and doesn't have a hostname.

If you see these errors in the router system log, please help verify the following details:

1. Does this error point to a specific client device or some? Are they phones or computers?

2. Does that device use a private or randomized MAC address?

3. Does that device have a hostname?

However, if you do experience an internet disconnect or unstable issue with the router, please provide us with the below information:

1. Will the internet LED on the Archer C80/C64 change to orange/red when the issue happens?

2. Who is your ISP? What is the model of the ISP-provided modem? Do you have stable internet connectivity if you connect a computer directly to the modem? This needs to be tested and verified for the same period when you observed the disconnect on the C80/C64.

3. If the ISP-provided modem gives you a pretty stable connection, please try with a new Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable between the modem and the C80/C64 to observe if it will make a difference.

4. If nothing helps, please save the whole system log on the C80/C64 and send it to support.forum@tp-link.com for further investigation.

Thank you very much.

@Kensei

Thanks very much for the detailed info about the issue you are experiencing with the C80 router. Just to confirm, is the PC with the IP 0.100 connected to the C80 via an Ethernet cable or via Wi-Fi? Are all the devices with the 0.3/0.4/0.5 IP address experiencing the same issue?

Who is your ISP? What is the WAN connection type on the C80? How often does this issue happen?

Please show us the DHCP setting on the C80, then we will check if there is anything we need to modify.

To locate this issue and try to fix it, we would like to follow up on your case via email then. Please check your inbox and provide the information that we need.

@Kevin_Z

WAN is PPPoE. Arden Broadband ISP. PC  is Wired, others are wireless.

Pinging from ISP towards me there are no problems. The issue is from the router. As you can see from the SysLog, the issue is on every device.

@Kensei

Hello Kensei,

Have you got any reply from TP-Link about this "DHCPS: Lease hostname not found" issue?

I have an Archer C5 v2 (AC1200) with exactly the same issue, you describe, in every detail!

Firmware updated to the latest

Firmware Version:

3.17.1 Build 20160613 Rel. 39593

I have plenty of devices, with fix IPs. My only solution is also exactly the same as you wrote, use Theter to disable 5 GHz wifi to get eveything back to normal.

Just today from 6AM until 8AM I see 12 DCHP errors mentined in my Router's Log.

Waiting to get any info from You If there were any troubleshooting provided by TP-Link?

Cheers, and have a nice one

Balazs

@Kevin_Z Yes I have received an email. I've elaborated in a PM.

@Balage_75

I received a reply from them, no solution yet. In the last 24 hours I've got 180 error reports/ ACK-OFFER cycles. It did start with about 10 when I factoiry reset 5 days ago. I will attach a syslog for you to compare if you'd like to see if your problem is the same as mine. However I was suggested to set up a manual IP on my LAN port. Regardless, I do think I was asked to do this in order remove the possibility of it being an issue with the Auto address fetcher. I would guess that if your IPv4 auto settings correctly get both your local IP, Gateway and Subnet Mask, manual setup won't do much, as it hasn't in my case.

Please ignore the last 30 lines in the syslog, those are from a WPS connection and don't pertain to this issue.

@Kensei

I have the same situation, but in my case the trouble was the DHCP. I had 2 DHCP: one DCHP in TPlink archer c80 and another DHCP from ISP (in a fiber conversor!)

My ISP have two options for configure their equipment  bridge or nat and they configure  bridge for default, for fix  I changed the  mode in the C80 to  only access point and no more losses conection.

Is not ideal  but work, after this I will verify with my ISP how to change de mode to NAT

@gvale002

Thanks for your update, but I gave up with TP-Link, I have changed my router, seems like TP-Link could not handle all my wireless devices. (When every mobile device are "at home" connected I have more then 25 wireless/mobile devices connected at the same time.) I liked very much the TP-Link, and the mobile app, but my new device have (so far) no problem to handle that much of the devices, however the webUI is horrible.

Cheers,

Balazs

Have you found any solution yet? I'm having the same issue on my Archer C24.

[dhcps]Lease host name not found

I get this msg often and the connection isn't really stable. WiFi disconnects and reconnects frequently.

Attached my system log below

I purchased a higher tier TP-Link modem. That solved it for me. I spent about a month with tech support and they remotely accessed my PC twice, neither one of us could figure out what was wrong so I was advised to return the item.
