No internet
Hi,
I recently bought the ax11000
while most of the time it's great, for some reason ,only on latest phones like iPhone 11s etc , you can't connect to WiFi unless you unjoin and rejoin the wifi (mainly upstairs too away from the router)
sppedtest won't connect or anything else
like I said, if I join another WiFi for a second then rejoin mine, it's fine again
has anyone got an idea on what that could be please ?
thanks

This sounds like signal strengh is too weak to maintain the connection
Do you have beam forming and SmartConnect enabled? that should help move you to the 2.4ghz when sigal is weak on teh 5ghz
Also do you have other APs around the house broadcasting the same SSID?

hi
my signal is full and strong
I contacted via chat support and they said it's to do with smart connect dropping WiFi connections and told me to basically not use it
so I've disabled it and see how it goes from there

What is likely happening is your 5Ghz signal isnt strong enough to maintain so SmartConnect is trying to move you to the 2.4Ghz (2.4 has a longer range), this will disconnect you while it does that
Disabling Smart Connect will help this as it wont force you down, instead keep you alive on the weaker signal until its completely gone. However performance will suffer
This does sound like a signal issue, setting separate 2.4 and 5ghz SSIDs then testing signal strength will tell you. Or if you use an app like wifi analyser and post the screenshot at teh affected area we can tell you more then as that will show the actual -db loss on the signal

Just judging by your first post you are using IPhones so im going to guess that you are using the WiFi signal meter on your phone as a guage of signal strengh? I would strongly recommend against this, you need to know the actual -db loss figures before you can make a call on signal strength.
Install a wifi scanner and see what the actual signal -db or RSSI is before enabling SmartConnect again.
What you said about the cameras working OK on 2.4 only confirms my suspicions that the 5ghz isnt strong enough. SmartConect will always try to move devices to the faster 5Ghz frequency, as you mention they drop off once SmartConnnect is enabled im guessing that the AP is trying to move them to the 5Ghz and signal isnt allowing.. therefore drops off
Being completely honest with you here, until you actually do some signal strength reading in the affected area you are shooting in the dark, you also dont know what channels your neighbours are on and that could be interfering with your signal... below is an example of what you should expect to see
In this example you will see the neighbours are flooding the lower channels so rightfully this user has went to higher side to avoid this.. Note his phone is reproting a PERFECT signal on WiFi
Now look at the strengh in red on the right.. it averages around -45/50 db this is an AVERAGE signal. However the phone reads excellent, they lie a lot
Looking closer, it should be a 3.5 / 4 at best.. certainly not perfect (perfect is -35/40db)
Until you do these tests you are just shooting in the dark and your phone will lie to you about it.. sorry..

When you say all 3WiFi, is it the same SSID just different frequency? Home2_4Ghz Home5Ghz etc etc..? in that case you could use one password
If they are seperate WiFi for example IOT Home and Guests.. then yeah its best different passwords :)
If you have an android or windows device look for WiFi Analyser

IOS doesnt have a much choice as Apple dont let you do scanning.. MAC you can use this, just choose the free version

yes but I've now put different passwords to each one. Is that ok too you think Or is it better one the same password?
I'll find that app also and show you the results
cheers for your help with this. Appreciate it

Yeah that will work fine with multiple passwords and is likely a good idea, as long as it doesnt annoy you
Lets have a look at your WiFi Scan results first and see what is going on, check out what your neighbours are at for example.
No worries happy to help where possible!
