Random connection drops and inability to update firmware
Hello,
I recently purchased a TP-LINK AV1300 (TL-PA8030P V3) kit from Amazon.de.
I've noticed that several times throughout the day, my connection will drop or hang for 5-15 seconds before coming back onilne.
This behavior happens on both my Macbook Pro 15 2019 and my Windows 10 Desktop PC.
I've tried to upgrade the firmware from both my Mac and Windows machines, but run into the same unhelpful error, "Update Failed".
I've downloaded the correct firmware for my kit, which includes:
1. mac-release-X.nvm
2. PA8030P_EU_30_QCA7550-WallAdapter_EN50561-2.7_CS_2020_01_17.pib
When I run the firmware updater and check my system log I see the following:
Mar 3 17:15:53 MBP tpPLC[30292]: -[JsExternal log:]:256 UI: updating...
Mar 3 17:15:53 MBP tpPLC[30292]: -[JsExternal _lanuchTask:cb:]:92 (

)
Mar 3 17:15:53 MBP-2 tpPLC[30292]: -[JsExternal _taskCallback]:121 {
"err_code" : -1
}
Mar 3 17:15:53 MBP-2 tpPLC[30292]: -[JsExternal log:]:256 UI: err_code: -1
Mar 3 17:15:57 MBP-2 tpPLC[30292]: -[JsExternal log:]:256 UI: refresh will launch in 20 sec
Can you confirm for me that the NVM and PIB files are indeed correct? Is there not any more information regarding what error code -1 corresponds to?
Thank you kindly! As without this problem being resolved, I may have to return the product.
Best regards
