Model: EAP225
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 5.0.0 Build 20200918 Rel. 58628

Until today I had only a single EAP110 but wanted to add a model that supported MU-MIMO.

So I bought an EAP 225 which I connected up and the Omado controller software (on Windows 10) found the EAP225 and I adopted it in.

Because I wanted to keep this seperate from the working environment I created a new WLAN which is only assigned to the new AP (EAP225). From my Android phone, I can connect to the WiFi and all seems to work fine (I know it's not using mobile data on the phone because I have switched that off.

But I can find no record in the console of the client existing (it doesn't show up on the default WLAN for the original EAP110)

Everything attached to the original WLAN funtions correctly and shows up in the console.

Firmware for both EAPs is the latest version.

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance

BB

@BerkshireBugsy

Hey

I think I know what your issue is.. Its a firmware incompatability

You are running Controller v3    The Firmware on your EAP110 is fine for that version of SDN... however the EAP225 v3 on Firmware 5.0.0 requires Controller version 4.1.5 or higher..

You have 2 options..

1.  Downgrade the firmware on the EAP225 v3 to EAP225(EU)_V3_2.7.0 Build 20200113   and this will allow it to work OK with the v3 Controller

or

2. Upgrade the Controller to V4.2.11 (newest at moment) and also upgrade the EAP110 v4  to  EAP110(EU)_V4_5.0.0 Build 20200914   and this will enable its support for V4 controller.

Personally... I would pick the v4 upgrade (option 2) as the v3 controller is starting to become end of life now.

Hope that helps!

@Philbert It looks like you were right (thank you)

I've now got the situation where the controller is managing the EAP225 but not the EAP110 but that doesn't suprise me and I will leave that until the morning to fix.

Thanks again.

@BerkshireBugsy

No bother

You may find you have to take the EAP110 standalone mode and do the update that way manually.  Reset it, then re-adopt it..
