Model: Archer AX10
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.2

Ever since December 2020 but more so recently my AX10 is losing internet connection maybe once or twice a day. My internet works well with the computer connected directly to the ethernet jack. The LAN works fine during the internet outage and I can reach my NAS without problems.

The connection is usually lost for a couple of minutes and then comes back again, but sometimes I have to restart the router. Restarting it immediately after connection loss gets the internet connection back as soon as it has booted up again. Every time it disconnects the system log is filled with these LED Controller INFO messages:

2021-03-05 07:24:11 Led Controller INFO [909] Start to run WAN1_ON

2021-03-05 07:24:11 Led Controller INFO [909] Start to run WAN0_OFF

2021-03-05 07:24:10 Led Controller INFO [909] Start to run LAN_ON

2021-03-05 07:16:36 Led Controller INFO [909] Start to run WAN1_OFF

2021-03-05 07:16:36 Led Controller INFO [909] Start to run WAN0_ON

2021-03-05 07:16:36 Led Controller INFO [909] Start to run LAN_ON

I have tried updating to the latest firmware, downgrading one step back (1.1.0 which is as far as it allows me to go), factory resetting both through router UI and on reset button. And even had the router replaced by the store that sold it to me. But the problem remains. The router worked flawlessly for about 4 months before this issue appeared.

More than two days now without a single disconnect, the 1.1.5 firmware have definitely fixed something even if I can't say for sure if its' stable long term yet.

The problematic firmwares for me were 1.1.0 and 1.1.2. The firmwares before that didn't have this issue as far as I know.

@veckans

May I know who is your ISP? Is the internet LED orange or green on the AX10 when the internet drops? Can you access its web interface at that time? If yes, what are the WAN IP address and default gateway? Is the WAN connection type PPPoE or Dynamic IP? If there is a WAN IP address when the internet drops, try to change the DNS server on the AX10 to something else, such as 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, then confirm.

Was there any change in the network before this issue happened?

@Kevin_Z  My ISP is Bahnhof, the LEDs remain green during the loss of connection, web interface and LAN is working without issues, ***.***.***.*** & ***.***.***.***, I have a Dynamic IP. I will try to change the DNS and see if it makes any difference, however I must stress the fact that internet is working without issues when I connect the PC to the internet jack directly.

The only change I have made to the network since I got the router is updating the firmware shortly before the issues started. I can't remember exactly what version I was on before the upgrade but I think it was 1.0.8 or 1.0.9.

@Kevin_Z Ok, I have now tested with another DNS server but the problem remains. Do you have any new firmware that solves this problem? Or a way to downgrade firmware below 1.1.0?

Nevermind, I can see that 1.1.5 just released today. Hopefully that fixes the problem.

@veckans

Hi, did the new firmware solve this issue? I have the exact same problem and even the newest firmware didn't help. (My thread: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/256414)

Thanks

@Vikalp No disconnects in the past 24 hours which is a first in the past two weeks. But I have to test longer before I know for sure if the firmware helped.

@Kepro Same issues here as well.  Same model (Archer AX10 Ver. 1.26) with the slightly newer firmware: 1.2.0 Build 20210421 Rel. 64516(5553).

Problems have been occurring since day 1 (within hours of first use).

WiFi connection seems fine, but WAN connection appears to drop after "long" duration of inactivity - which is usually overnight, but has happened during the day as well.

Restart of router restores WAN connection.

ISP has checked lines to my router and reports all is well.

Does this router have a "sleep" mode that it is not waking from?
