Same here @TP-Link would love this feature, having separate DNS settings at least would solve the problem I have at the moment with a pi-hole

@TP-Link

Count me in! I am using AdGuard home and I find it very frustrating that I cannot set different DNS settings for my private and guest networks. I want to keep the private and guest networks separate, but if I do, then the guest devices can't use the internet because they can't access my DNS server. I am using an Archer AX6000 by the way.

@TP-Link I'd like to have this feature as well. Same use case, I run a DNS server in my main network and want to configure the guest network to use a different DNS server (cloudflare). I have a Deco M5 set.

@TP-Link

I just came here to add my "me too" for this request.

Similar to everybody else, I'm running my own DNS server which resides on the LAN (pi-hole on a raspberry pi).

All wired and wireless devices on my main network are able to access that device and resolve DNS.

But all wireless devices on the Guest wifi network are unable to access the devices on my main LAN, and therefore can't resolve any DNS because they can't access the local DNS server.

If we could set a different DNS for devices on the Guest wifi, that would 'resolve' the issue because then my guest devices would be able to resolve DNS using my default ISP or other public DNS servers.

Another 'option' could be to allow individual devices to be placed in a 'DMZ' which is accessible to both the main and guest VLANs. This would allow me to specify that my DNS server should be available to all local devices regardless of whether they're on the main or guest network, and I wouldn't need the custom DNS setting for the guest network. (I'd still want my device protected from public access, though, which is why I don't just set up port forwarding with a public IP adress.)

Hi,

Since the guest network is already separated from the host network by VLAN,  the request for separate DHCP settings under guest has not been approved.

The separate DNS request is under consideration, but we need more support from other users to finally add it to the roadmap.

Hi @TP-Link,

Came here to upvote this. Same situation as everybody else. When would this be implemented?

Thanks

+1

Need separate DNS settings for main and guest networks.

@TP-Link I would like to be able to set another DNS for my guest network as well. I also have a separate DNS server on my main network which you can't access from the guest network. This makes the guest network useless... 👎🏻

I'm using Deco X60.

Another upvote from me. I use my Deco M5 in the router mode with a custom DNS server (i.e. pi-hole). Devices connected to the guest network do not have Internet access.

Please add this feature to be able to specify a DNS server for the guest network.

I'm also here to upvote!

I'm running TP-Link Archer AX50 with AdGuard running in Raspberry Pi that connected to my main network.

The issue is that the guest network devices can't access my DNS server. I'd like to setup another DNS server address for the guest network.

Hi @TP_LINK,

How many more people do you need? This is not the only thread asking for this… Count me in.

Thanks!
