@Maciej

Fantastic feedback thank you.

The only issue I have at the moment is a slow connection speed on the top floor with very slight conflict from time to time on 2.4ghz device.

I currently have 2.4ghz network on 20mhz channel 10 and a scheduled reboot at 4am.

This appears to be working ok ish.

I've asked to check if the developer can enable a backhaul connection this would boost my third floor wifi connection as its currently supplied via hard wire.

Best wishes

Scott

@Scott79

Right then, I'll keep my present setup (which was configured with both AX11000 bands on auto) for another day or two. If nothing goes awry, I'll reset it, configure the bands manually, and then do a fresh OneMesh. I have to say I prefer a manual config, as I can really optimise the link rate and actual speed over wi-fi.

From what you've written - and from what I've observed - I think (but this is only me guessing) that the RE505X's mediocre 2.4 GHz link rate (300 Mbps max.) leaves no leeway for signal loss: whereas 5 GHz can fluctuate between 1200 Mbps and, say, 700 Mbps (as it does in my case), when 2.4 GHz drops to something like 100 Mbps, it is nearly impossible for the units to recover. Only an educated guess on my part, though.

As regards backhaul, I would love wired backhaul, as I could use it for at least one of my RE505Xs. Although I think Kevin_Z mentioned somewhere that wired backhaul is (and will be) supported only by Deco systems.

Whatever, I'll keep observing my OneMesh, see what happens. smiley

I must say, it's a pleasure doing troubleshooting for TP-Link (wink) in your company.

Bye for now

Maciej

@Scott79

The 2.4 GHz signal loss problem reappeared just as I was replying to your post. Take a look at these screenshots:

So far, the RE505X has not recovered (it has now been an hour or so), and speedtests with my phone connected to the 2.4 GHz band give something like 5-7 Mbps down.

I'll report back when/if the RE505X recovers.

@Kevin_Z

I'm currently monitoring the situation, and of course I've already notified technical support.

I'll come back with an update when/if the RE505X recovers.

The problem persists for now, and devices formerly connected to the extender's 2.4 GHz band are going crazy.

@Scott79

Sorry to bombard you with all this but just to keep you in the know...

I couldn't wait any longer (I needed to use the printer via wi-fi), and the RE505X failed to right itself, so I reconfigured the whole setup (only now configuring the wi-fi manually) and rebooted. Right now, the TX rates of the RE505Xs are ok.

I'll observe how things develop, although I do think your 2.4 GHz weak connection problem may well have the same cause, i.e. the RE505X somehow being incapable of recovering from a 2.4 GHz link rate drop.

Technical support have been notified.

@Kevin_Z

Purchased 2 AX11000 with one setup as an access point and the other as a router. Doesn't seem that onemesh is supported connecting to an AX11000 as an access point. I have an ethernet connection between the two as the backhaul. One is upstairs the other is downstairs.

@Maciej

Are you sure your not messing mine up too ha ha

I got up this morning saw all the email notifications on the post and tried to load the page and guess what no internet.

I had to jump in the car and head to work so I haven't looked into it yet. I've got a sneaky suspicion that if you run the AX11000 and 1x RE505X the system works fine but if you run 2x RE505X on the one mesh setup they seem to conflict after about 48 hours and the WiFi collapses.

I'll have a play tonight and will get some screen shots.

Have a great day.

@Scott79

Hope I haven't, I'd die of shame if that were the case.angel

It could be that you're right - two RE505Xs being too much for the AX11000 to handle.

Anyhow, I'm in touch with technical support. I sent them all my screenshots, and it seems that they're working on something.

I'll keep you posted if there are any developments during the day.

Have a great day too.

@Maciej & @Scott79 - I think I might keep my 2x RE605X in their boxes for a little while longer then...! Good luck.
