@Kevin_Z so far since disabling the antivirus on the router I haven't had Google smart Speaker connectivity issues.

Regarding the speed test I've never gotten above 200mbps via the web GUI and I've never gotten above ~500mbps on my iPhone 12pro max. I recently installed an Orbi AX6000 and got 1,400mbps via their web GUI and 800mbps via my iPhone 12pro max. I ended up returning the Orbi because it's much more expensive and I want my AX11000 to work as advertised.

I've done hours of research and testing with the AX11000 and cannot seem to fine-tune it to work correctly. I've changed my DNS servers to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 and that doesn't seem to fix my speed issues or my tp-link login link issue. I've also played around with the QOS (turned it off, turned it on) and that doesn't seem to fix anything either. Also I've tried enabling IPV6. Nothing seems to improve speeds.

Any other ideas on what I can try? I'm thinking of trying out the new beta firmware but am nervous I may brick my device if I download and install it. Is there 100% a way to revert back to a stable version if I try it out? Otherwise I may end up just getting the Orbi again as that seemed to give me the best speeds. I just hate how much Netgear charges for their devices with much lower hardware specs (AX11000 vs AX6000).

Thanks in advance for your help!

The one small problem with Asus being that their firmwares, churned out at an incredible tempo, are usually not ready for use. Basically, they're just betas which users have to test, regularly reverting to older versions.

Couple that with incredibly flaky hardware, and you've got a user's paradise. Instead of using, you do troubleshooting most of the time.

You can take my word for it, a former Asus router user. Or don't take my word, go to SNB forums and read some of the stories.

@Maciej

Yet my Asus AX11000 has been runing without a reboot and single connection drop for more than a month.

And I had to reboot the TP-Link AX11000 everyday and still the 5GHz-2 would drop connections every 30 minutes. And I had to hear from a TP-Link customer support representative that the 5GHz-2 would only work with clients 5 meters away from the router and in the same room, which makes absolutely no sense.

There's absolutely no comparison between the two routers. Asus wins hands down.

You must be a desperate guy, posting like that on a TP-Link forum. wink

Hello, please check this article to disable the QoS feature on the AX11000, then confirm the speed again:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/3069/

If this doesn't help, try to reset the AX11000 to factory defaults by following this guidance, then reconfigure it from scratch to confirm:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/497/  (Method 2)

If none of these help, we would like to escalate the case to the support engineers, they will help you out.

Hi, are you running with the latest beta firmware on the AX11000, or you are still with the latest official? Can we have the detailed firmware version? Is there any range extender in the AX11000 network?

If the 5GHz-2 signal is not stable and the coverage is not good, please confirm if the 5GHz-1 is better, or it is the same? You can try to change the 5G wireless channel on the router, test which one will give you a better coverage. Most importantly, it is suggested testing the signal and coverage on different client devices, as the coverage not only depends on the signal source, but also verify on the client devices. You can also try to relocate the router to find a more centralized location.

Yes, the current firmware is 1.2.0 Build 20210415 rel.78917.

I don't have any RE in this network for the moment (I have 3 RE in anothers networks with qnothers TP-link routers that have one mesh). Like I said the bug that I noticed is on Homecare - AntiVirus protection or AntiVirus history (i don't know if protection is working but not showing History, or protection is not working at all).

Thank you!

Just keeping up to date with this thread to see what's happening (my MESH setup has been running fine since installing 2 months ago). Just for clarity are you saying you have 2 networks running in your premises (property)? One with the AX11000 with no extenders and another TP-Link router with 3 extenders?

@Kevin_Z

Hi Kevin,

I downloaded the onemesh beta for the AX11000, however when I try to open the zip file I get a message "unable to expand" the file and that "it is an unsupported format."

I tried to open it on my Apple Mac and a PC and get the same message.

I have the RE605X and the AX11000 and I would like to install the onemesh beta update.

Is there something I am doing wrong or need to do in order to open the file?  Can you please provide me instrucions?

My apologies in advanced if this question has been asked and answered already.

Thanks,

Bo

@Cowie

Hi, after downloading the beta firmware and saved it on the desktop, you can click that zipped file twice, and that's it. Then login to the web interface of the AX11000, go to Advanced > System > Firmware Upgrade, choose that file you download, you will be able to upgrade it,

Here is the guidance: https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202011/20201116/1910012815_Archer%20AX11000(EU)_UG_REV1.1.2.pdf  (Page 87 13.1.2 Local Upgrade)

@soram

Hello,

I have 3 TP-Link network in 3 different location.

Location 1 - Apartment with 2 rooms (where I live day to day):

Only AX11000  with 5 devices connected almost everytime - up to 20 devices on maximum

Good speed and stability  - but I need to buy one extender because in bedroom the signal is week - and I cannot move router closer, I have one PC connected via wire in livingroom.

Location 2 - Appartment with 2 rooms (small business)

One AX73 and one AX605X extender in One Mesh that run verry well with 10 devices connected everytime - up to 30 - 40 devices

Good stability and speed for what I need.

Location 3 - House with 1 floor and 10 rooms  250m2

(Where we go on weekends)

One Archer A7 with RE305 in one mesh - plus another RE450 (that don't support mesh) - with 4 devices connected always (3 IoT devices and one DVR) - up to 10 - 15 devices maxim

Not so good  - on extender the speeds are slow, and from time to time I loose connection (only when we are there)- but for how much  time  we spent there- is OK. I will investigate where the problem is in future (I think on extenders - because on A7 everything is good)

Thank you!
