TP-link Archer C5400X vs. Archer GX90
Hi everyone
I am trying to decide between the TP-link Archer C5400X vs. Archer GX90.
I have a 3200sq ft home 3 level home and I am not a frequent gamer, and I mostly have older devices that do not support WiFi 6.
I currently have a 300mbps cable connection.
I am wondering which one would provide better speeds and coverage.
I notice that the C5400X has two 5 GHz bands at 2167 Mbps and the 2.4Ghz band is 1201 Mbps which appears faster on paper than the GX90
(See below for comparison)
C5400X
AC5400
5 GHz: 2167 Mbps (802.11ac)
5 GHz: 2167 Mbps (802.11ac)
2.4 GHz: 1000 Mbps (802.11n)
GX90
AX6600
5 GHz: 4804 Mbps (802.11ax, HE160)
5 GHz: 1201 Mbps (802.11ax)
2.4 GHz: 574 Mbps (802.11ax)
The C5400X processor also appears to be a bit faster at 1.8Ghz vs. 1.5Ghz of the GX90.
I am not sure of the strength of the 5Ghz bands, but from my experience I know that when I am further away, I usually connect to the 2.4Ghz band, which the C5400X appears to have the faster 2.4Ghz band.
What would you recommend as being the better router? The tried and true C5400X or the newer and less reviewed Archer GX90 and remember I don't game much.
