Model: Archer C80
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.5.7 Build 210308 Rel.60033n(5553)

Hello TPLink

I notice that when I configure my Archer C80 router to Access Point, one mesh support will disappear in the router settings.

Can you have an update for firmware to support One mesh when router configured as Access Point?

The Onemesh router can only build up the Onemesh network with the range extender when it is working in Router mode. You may check the QAs in the below article:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2690/ (Q8/A8)

You can know more about the inquiries here:

This will be recorded as a feature request to the product engineers, they will evaluate if this can be achieved on the future firmware or hardware.

Hi, if the LAN IP of the R605 is already 192.168.0.1, please change the LAN IP of the C80 to 192.168.5.1 or 192.168.10.1, then connect them together as described previously, and change the C80 to router mode.

Yes, please suggest this to the engineers. I already have a Multi WAN TL-R605 serves as the router and I used my TP-Link C80 as Access point and when it is configured as access point, one mesh will disappear. Hope they will support this suggestion.

Thanks a lot.

I see. If you want to use the Onemesh feature on the C80, it needs to be in Router mode. Even though it is in Router mode, it can still work with the existing TL-R605 router, it's just the devices connecting to the C80 and R605 belong to two different subnets.

@Kevin_Z Hi, If I will change my Archer C80 it to Router Mode, will it conflict with TL-R605 since DHCP is in TL-R605?

Please give me insights.

Just ensure the IP address of the two are in different subnet. Let's say, if the defaults IP address of the main R605 is 192.168.1.1, subnet is 255.255.255.0, then you can leave the IP address of the C80 as 192.168.0.1, which is also the defaults IP. Connect the LAN port from the R605 to the WAN port of the C80, the internet should be on, and you should be able to get the Onemesh on the C80.

@Kevin_Z Hi Kevin, the default of my TL-R605 is 192.168.0.1, if I change it to 192.168.1.1, will it not conflict with the Default gateway of my Two ISPS? Please take a look the attached screenshot.
