TL-WPA8630P V2 - How to extend existing Wifi network without WPS ?
WPS has been considered insecure for many years now, and wifi routers / APs have been shipping without WPS buttons.
My existing hardware is one of those that does not have this WPS option.
The instructions for extending your existing wifi network only details how to do it with WPS.
How can I extend my network using my newly purchased WPA8630 without this insecure WPS?

@EmbercideHello,
WPS process is not a necessary step when installing powerline units. WPS is just one of the methods to copy the SSID/ WiFi name from the main router. If there is no WPS button on your router, we can copy or change the Wi-Fi settings manually. Here is the instruction:

@Solla-topee so just to confirm, if I configure the wireless settings in the powerline adapter with the same SSID and password as the existing wifi network this will function as an extender and not a separate wifi network with an identical name?

@Embercide Hello,
Powerline extender will have a separate Wi-Fi even though it uses the same SSID, most nowadays Wi-Fi clients like phones and laptops could roam between router and power line WiFi and stays on the stronger Wi-Fi signal, kindly note that there will be few secs cut-off when roam from between WiFi to WiFi.
