There are a few issues still affecting this device.

 

1. Devices connected via 2.4 GHz wireless band will experience occasional connection failures. The access point will seem like it's no longer in range, and refuse to connect.

2. DHCP address reservation sometimes fails to reserve an address. If you have a server that needs to have a fixed IP in the LAN, you'll notice that sometimes it is assigned the wrong IP.

3. No firmware updates available to the public.

 

I've reported most of these problems to TP-Link support, but nothing has changed so far.

 

So I don't recommend buying this sort of all-in-one device. My advice is to get yourself a separate GPON ONU running in bridge mode and any router of choice. I'm using this ONU: xz000-g3
