AX50 firmware downgrade/upgrade issue.
AX50 firmware downgrade/upgrade issue.
I had installed the beta firmware ax50v1_intel-up-ver1-1-0-P10[20201013-rel33896]_noRadarDetect.bin which fixed the DFS channel issue.
Recently, there is a new firmware for AX50 https://static.tp-link.com/upload/firmware/2021/202109/20210909/Archer%20AX50(US)_V1_210730.zip
I would like to install this firmware due to the new changelog of
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bug Fixed:
1. Fixed the FragAttacks vulnerabilities;
2. Updated the version of the Dropbear and fixed some Dropbear vulnerabilities;
3. Updated the version of the OpenSSL and fixed some OpenSSL vulnerabilities.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
However, when I tried the Local Upgrade method, I keep on getting "Unable to upgrade firmware".
I believe it is caused by version numbering issue after comparing previous firmwares numbering :
ax50v1_intel-up-ver1-0-11-P1[20210730-rel54485]_signed ---> would like to install this.
ax50v1_intel-up-ver1-1-0-P10[20201013-rel33896]_noRadarDetect --->this is currently installed.
ax50v1_intel-up-ver1-0-9-P1[20200708-rel55037]_signed ---> these 3 below are old firmware version
ax50v1_intel-up-ver1-0-8-P1[20200426-rel65338]_signed
ax50v1_intel-up-ver1-0-7-P1[20200407-rel54193]_signed
At first, I tried TFTP recovery method, then I realized AX50 doesn't support TFTP.
So, how am I suppose to upgrade or downgrade to different firmware version for AX50 after I flashed the BETA firmware, @Kevin_Z ?

That's sad and annoying. They are actually legally required to allow us to flash any firmware we like. I don't know why they are being sneaky with these AX routers. Just search for "FCC Settlement Requires TP-Link to Support 3rd-Party Firmware" on google. My guess is they are somehow acting like the settlement doesn't apply to AX routers.
