Merging wireless networks? (I.e. extending virgin superhub wifi)

I'm not sure if this is possible but I've set up my WPA281 kit but its created a second wireless network (in addition to my original one from my virgin superhub). I was hoping that it'd be possible to just extend the original network (I.e. same SSID and password) and appears as just a single network to select.
Anyone any idea if this is possible?
