Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version:

Hi all,

My Omada software controller is reporting strange upload (and download) statistics for my Raspberry PI.

My ISP reports that I only used 12 GB upload this month, so 72 GB for the Pi alone can not be correct.

What could go wrong?  Have I misconfigured something?

My Raspberry Pi is running Ubuntu + Docker + Omada Controller Version 4.2.11.

@FlashWeave

Stats from the Client? Right?

Combine the info you provided, I think that's your that simply means the total data consumption of the device internally and externally.

You can check the Device>Router>Statistics. In there, you can find the total upload/download to the ISP. Compare again.

Same issue like this thread?

I'd suggest you upgrade the controller version for checking,

Omada Software Controller v4.4.6 has been released on October 11, 2021

If it doesn't fix the issue, could you please provide the network map and the firmware of your Omada devices?

@John1234 and @Fae : thank you for responding.

I don't have a Omada router at the moment.

I plan on buying one in the near future.

This is my network map.  The yellow ones are non-Omada devices.

Router = ISP router, Controller = Raspberry Pi.

This is my device / firmware list:

Dear @FlashWeave,

Thank you for your great patience.

Can you recall when you upgraded the firmware for your TL-SG2210P V3.20?

May I check the detailed firmware version of your TL-SG2210P V3.20?

Do you have more than two network interfaces configured on your Raspberry Pi?

Edit: The 3.20.2 (3.20.2 Build 20210806 Rel.55686) firmware on the TL-SG2210P v3.20 has fixed the wrong traffic statistics issue, the massive upload traffic may be generated by the old firmware, you may select the time period after you upgrade the switch firmware to check the traffic statistics and verify whether there are any exceptions.

Besides, the Client traffic statistics are calculated by port, all traffic on the same port will be calculated as the traffic of the connected client, so you may also confirm whether there are other clients connected on the same switch port.

If you find anything new, please feel free to let me know. We look forward to your valued feedback!
