Since most of a router features don't work in AP mode, will we get compensation, that is, a stronger wireless signal in AP mode?

I honestly don't think the signal in AP mode will be better than that in router mode, and this is not the difference between a wireless router working in Router mode or AP mode. You can check this FAQ below to understand better:

Yes. You can still connect devices to the LAN ports of the Access Point to access the internet.
