Model: Archer AX50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.11 Build 20210730 rel.54485(4555)

I've tried connecting 2 different laptops via ethernet (1 Mac; 1 PC) to the back of my AX-50 and cannot achieve greater than 90-95 mpbs on a 1 gig bandwith.

If I stand next to the router and connect the same laptops via wifi I can achieve speeds of more than 600 mbps.

Why is the ethernet speed so poor? Could this suggest a hardware fault?

Close. It turns out it was a faulty USB/ethernet adaptor.

Mods, you can close this as a solved case.

Probabably an etehernet cable issue. Use another cable (CAT5E/6) for connecting to AX50.

See this troubleshooting thread for details.
