Model: Archer C6
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.3.6 Build 20200902 rel.65591(4555)

I'm trying to setup my home network with an Archer C6 but its LAN keeps turning ON and OFF (or connecting and disconnecting) whenever I disable the auto-negotiation and try to force the operation speed at 100 or 1000Mbps.

The internet port is connected at 1000Mbps full duplex and WiFi is working at my ISP's maximum speed, but the wired connection is working only at 10Mbps. With auto-negotiation it works fine at 10Mbps, but never above that.

My ethernet card is Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller with latest driver. Turning off the negotiation on the card, on the router, or on both causes the on/off behavior.

I'm using a regular (not a cross-over) Cat5e cable (tested two different cables)

Any idea or test to be done?

Thank you!

Sam

  @Sam81BR

Use another cable (straight, CAT6) or use other LAN port on the router to see if any difference (Auto/1000 mbps).

Go through this thread for details.

If the issue persists you can try the beta FW for C6v2 EU from this thread (you can always revert back to the current FW release).
