Is it possible to update my TL-WPA4220(UK) KIT AV500 Version 1 to a more recent version of firmware ?
if so, then please what is the latest version I can update it to and is there a document showing me how to do this ?

Hardware is fixed on device when a device being made, so hardware version could not be upgraded . Different hardware has corresponding firmware, V1 need to use V1 firmware, updating firmware of a different hardware could damage the device.
The latest firmware of WPA4220 V1 was made in 2016, you may check if it's newer than your current firmware:
