Model: Archer MR600
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 2

I puchased an Archer MR600 (with  a Unlimited Smarty Sim) and a Poynting antenna. After the initial setup I was getting 87.83 Mbps this was on the 6th of February and has been that way  until 31st March then the speed dropped to 3 mbps, then on the 2nd April the speed went tp to 20Mbps for a few hours then dropped back down to 3Mbps again.

I have checked the router and the antenna connections. I don't know what to do next.

  @PeteBez

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

Please monitor the network type, band and signal strength when the router giving different speeds.

1. if sometimes, it falls back to 3G, you could try to change the Network Mode from 4G Preferred to 4G only

2. If it stays on 4G but using different 4G bands, you could try to select 4G band manually:

https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/3099/

3. If still no improvement, it might be related to the base station nearby, it is recommended to test the same SIM card at same location on another 4G device to see if it has similar issue.

@PeteBez Hi, I had the same problem. This solved for me:

https :// community.tp-link . com/en/home/forum/topic/268932

https : //www.sweclockers . com/forum/trad/1639349-tp-link-archer-mr400-eller-mr600-erfarenheter?p=3

If you install the (beta) firmware

Archer_MR600v1_1.1.0_0.9.1_[201204-rel66940]_up_boot_2020-12-04_19.05.35.bin

you can select the bands that ensure maximum speed.

For example: bands 7,3 -> speed = 4.1 (download) / 2.7 (upload)

bands 3,20 -> speed = 41.9 (download) / 17.0 (upload)

You have to turn off the router, wait a few seconds, turn on the router and see what changed (bands & speed). Repeat until you reach a good speed.

Hope this helps.

Hi, sorry for the links. Please delete the spaces; the links will work; for example:

https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/268932

That page contains the link to download the working firmware:

https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202012/20201207/Archer_MR600v1_1.1.0_0.9.1_%5B201204-rel66940%5D_up_boot_2020-12-04_19.05.35.zip

In the other link I added some spaces to avoid the error message "Content or title contains illegal external links."
