Solution Controller v5 May Frequently Generate Alerts Of “The number of logs is up to the limit”.
This Article Applies to:
Omada Controller v5
Issue Description/Phenomenon:
We noticed that some forum users are confused and worried about the following alert message of "The number of logs is up to the limit" appeared on Omada Controller v5.
In fact, when you are notified with such alert log, that means the number of log entries in your controller has reached the upper limit, meanwhile, your controller has automatically deleted 10% of logs from the oldest entries. Exactly, this alert log is not an "Error" but just an "Info", so please DO NOT worry about it.
The main issue or concern is that when the number of logs increases rapidly in a short period of time, the controller may frequently generate such "Log Full" alert message since it monitors in real time whether the number of logs has reached the upper limit.
Available Solutions:
The R&D team has planned to optimize the "Log Full" notification and change the real-time monitoring to periodical inspection on Controller v5.4.
Edit: Omada Controller v5.4 has been released by August 3rd, 2022. Check this post for details.
At present, if you receive such alert message frequently, you may disable “Log Full” notification under Log -> Notification -> System, then it won’t raise your attention anymore. Alternatively, you may check which log types are frequently generated and then adjust the notification settings.
