Model: Archer C58HP
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: Archer C58HP(UN) _V1_180717

I subscribe internet from my local ISP 50 mbps downstream and 7.5 mbps upstream. And it's true using speedtest with single LAN cable connected to my PC or laptop, or using Android with 5 GHz Wifi 5. But I don't understand why, if I test with 2.4Ghz Wifi 4 (using either PC, Laptop, or Android both 20 MHz or 40 MHz channel width) it's only have +/- 1.6 mbps.

My WR841HP can have easy 7.5 mbps upstream with 2.4 GHz Wifi 4.

Is this something wrong with the product or need firmware update.

Thank you

Hello @jonet_wicaksana

I would suggest you reset the C58HP to factory defaults, then reconfigure it from scratch and don't modify any advanced settings on the C58HP, leave them all by default, then connect the laptop or android to the 2.4G network again to test the speed. If the speed is normal, then try to modify the settings as requested one by one, and test the speed once you modify specific settings to determine which one affects the speed.

Regarding the 2.4G wireless settings, try Installing a wifi analyzer app and see how many 2.4G networks overlap yours, and what are their channels, then choose one that is less crowded to monitor and test the speed again.

Dear @Kevin_Z

Thank you for the suggestion, I've followed but still no increasement in 2.4Ghz upload speed.

I live in 1000m2 house. I don't have any wifi signal interference from my neighbor.

Wifi Analyzer result:

I tried to run iperf3;

Scenario A

Laptop with LAN connection, and Android with 5 Ghz connection, result:

Scenario B

Laptop with LAN connection, and Android with 2.4 Ghz connection, result:

2.4 GHz Speedtest

5 GHz Speedtest

5 Ghz have limited area and only covering my living room, but not my working room and my backyard (I often work there), I know cable will solve my problem, but since my previous router was WN841HP and no have issue with upload speed, I was dissapointed with Archer C58HP. The reason I replace my WN841HP because intermittent disconnected issue due hardware aging and usage

Any other suggestion?

--additional info:

I just borrowed unused Huawei HG6243C Wifi Router, I setup the Huawei as repeater/extender connected through LAN to the Archer C58HP. I create different SSID name and different channel (Archer C58HP Channel 1 SSID A, Huawei HG6243C Channel 11 SSID B), and I connect all 2.4 GHz device to Huawei and I get excellent upload and download speed.

I really dissapointed and thinking to RMA this product to the local TP-Link representative if possible.

Hello @jonet_wicaksana

Thank you very much for the detailed issue description. If that is the case, I would recommend you contact the local tech support to be advised further if they can help with the replacement. Please let me know if the replacement will give the expected 2.4G speed.
