TP-Link Router Archer AX20 does not connect 5G onemesh to any of three TP-Link Mesh wi-fi extender

I have had two IT professionals come to my house to help with my wi-fi extenders also TP-Link one mesh and they will not connect to the router.

I have three:

I have one mesh wi-fi extender RE305 (AC1200 dual band)

I have two wi-fi range extenders RE200 (AC750 dual band)

All of the extenders connect to the 2.4G onemesh

None of the extenders connect to the 5.0G onemesh

However, each of the extenders CAN connect to the modem/router from my internet providers, both 2.4G and 5.0G signals.

I have reset each unit a hundred times to include the router. As I said I have had two IT pros come to help and nothing.

Currently, I am just using the TP-Link router. The router works great.

when close to the router - I get over 500Mbps download

further away 300Mbps

wife's office 120Mbps

far bedroom 60Mbps

Previous, I WAS using the service provider modem/router with the TP-Link extenders

and the signal was much less
next to- 300Mbps
further away- 200Mbps

wife's office- 90Mps
far bedroom- 30Mps

Why do the TP-Link extenders connect fine to the service provider modem/router but not the new TP-Link router?

Hello   @orybro

Thank you for creating a detailed post!

May I know the issue is A.  RE not detecting  5Ghz SSID of router  or  B. RE could see AX20 5Ghz SSID but failed to connect to it

If range extender is able to see  router  OneMesh 5Ghz SSID, but failed to connect to 5Ghz wifi , you could try some tips here

  • Disable Smart Connect on Router first, set 5Ghz channel on 26/40/44/48
  • Confirm 5Ghz Wi-Fi password is correct, you could try a different 5Ghz password and reinstall range extender

Has connected to TP-Link extender but no internet, what can I do?

If still the same, can you share the information here 1. LED status on RE  2. Try to log in range extender web page and share a photo of Status page after setup
3.  hardware and firmware version of your range extender.
