Hello,

I was wondering if the device serves as an access point for both the normal network and the guest network if I use it in AP-Mode by connecting it via Ethernet to the router. Is this the case, or is it only an access point for the normal network?

Cheers.

In AP mode you're not extending the main router's wireless network, but creating a new wireless SSID with the same/different name than what's on your main router.
