The AX53 is the newer model, but in terms of features and specifications, they are identical!

 

Personal opinion..   You are HIGHLY unlikely to fully utilise even the AX50, its in excess of the required specification for most people.    I would just buy the cheaper AX50, its still a newish device and appears to be getting firmware updates (one this month)

 

I had Ax50 and now i have the AX53 ( AX50 warranty), and the AX53 has few options, example antivirus free, the ax53 has a antivirus very weak ( but if u pay it will be much better), the ax50 has a better one for free u dont need pay anything, the AX50 has a option for Link aggregation, u can use 2Gbe network, but it only work in NAS ( system of backup) and windows server in windows 10 or 11 even pro doesn't work and ax50 has USB, but let me talk about the bad things the CPU is very hot, the system to cooling is really bad, the wifi connection is unstable, the wifi encrypt is outdated even in cable the connections drops because the heat, in AX53 they changed the CPU, now i can reach 850mbps in my S21fe, before... i could reach only 300 - 450mbps **The both of them has VPN** Sorry for some words mistake im from Brazil, for every one who read this post doesn't buy AX50, AX53 and AX55 are better options and costs practically the same price, unhappily AX55 its not sold here =(

Seems like the biggest differences are..

 

AX50 has an usb port but AX53 does not.

AX53 supports one mesh but AX50 does not.

There is also another model AX55 that supports one mesh and also have USB port too.
