After updating controller(Version:5.4.6) WIFI roaming is not working. May I Know if anbody has same issue or only this issue for me.

Ealier version in log it clearly mentioned  "Omada[Controller] [client:xxxxx] is roaming from [ap:xxxxx][Channel 36] to [ap:xxxxx][channel 52] with SSID xxxxx" but when i checked logs after updaing there is no roaming.

-> 802.11r is enabled

  @shberge

Hey,

Thanks for your advice. The issue appears to be resolved.

And do you have any best practises for how to make WiFi roaming work properly? In my case, when a person roams from one AP to another, sometimes the phone does not auto connect (to the new AP) even if it is reconnected. It uses the 2.4 GHz band even if the AP is closer. The end user needs to turn wifi off and on on his/her phone in order to get the 5GHz band.

wish I had a solution to the roaming problem, I have the same problem, I have mentioned this on the forum a few times before but I don't think tp-link can fix this or don't take it seriously, I have a mix of EAP660HD 620HD and EAP610 - Outdoor. when I roam between the access points it often disconnects completely before the connection is restored. I have tried all possible combinations of settings without it making any difference.

when it comes to the 5GHz band, you can try turning on band steering, it will probably help you get the clients over to 5GHz
