Archer MR400 IPSec VPN
Hello,
I've just purchased an Archer MR400 (V4) and need to configure it as a VPN Client. The tplink website showed it is capable to do that, however in the configuration I only find OpenVPN and PPTP VPN. So it seems, in the V4 this feature is gone again. Anyone has an idea? Is there a firmware patch or beta firmware I could try to get IPSec going?
It's as bit strange tplink seems to not support IPSec any more in new system versions...
Any help is appreciated, really need to set this up to connect to my home network.
Thanks,
Mirko

Hi, could you please double check the hardware version of your MR400 on the bottom label of the product itself? is it V4.0 or V4.20? the web interface usually doesn't show the small version after dot, so I would like to double check it, then send you the correct firmware to try.
And are you trying to create a IPSec site to site VPN?

Thank you for your answer.
The label at the bottom of the router actually is ver. 4.20.
I need to set up the router as a VPN (IPSec) client. I want to connect from remote to my home network, the MR400 is at the remote site.
Thanks,
Mirko

@Sunshine One more time thank you for support. I have question about your products. It's knows that is hard to buy proprer model and also proper hardware version of router which supports S2S VPN IPSEC. I was thinking that good way is checking emulator of product on your website to find out that IPSEC is present in options, but no it's not so easy.
For example MR600 v2 in emulator has VPN IPSEC function - Firmware Version:1.7.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 220516 Rel.51493n Hardware Version:Archer MR600 v2 00000003. So I bought MR600 v2 and got device which Firmware Version:1.5.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 210914 Rel.59719n Hardware Version:Archer MR600 v2 00000002 and there is no IPSEC!
1. I can't find firmware 1.7.0 0.9.1 which is used in emulator. Why?
2. I found that i can upgrade firmware to 1.4.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 211018 Rel.69149n 9(btw it's looks like more downgrade then upgrade) but this is beta version which has water mark "Confidential Only For Test" Is it safe to use it?
3. when the beta version goes to the final version?
4.why it's so tricky? It should be easy to buy proper device but it isn't.

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.
The features displayed on the emulator may depend on local regulations and different firmware versions, so it is for a reference only, for accurate information, please check the specification of the MR600 V2 on the official website, you will see that IPSec VPN is not included:
Regarding your other questions, here are the answers:
1. The 1.7.0 firmware is not available yet, and once it is ready, we will publish it on the official website
2. The beta firmware you mentioned is with IPSec VPN, there is water mark since it is not an officially released version, but you could still use it before official firmware released.
3. The release time is not confirmed yet, please pay attention to our official website
4. As mentioned above, it is recommended to check specification page of the product(remember to select correct version on Overview page first), if some information is not included thus you are still not sure, you could also contact our technical support team to confirm it.
