Hi,

Am I correct that Link-Backup and Load-Balancing only works on IPv4 and IPv6 is fully disengaged from that?

Because in the IPv6 settings I can only choose Pass-Through from one WAN interface and there is no other option available. So when this WAN-interface goes down, all IPv6 connections are going down, too, because there is no fail-over of the Pass-Through interface.

And Load-Balancing cannot work either, because TP-Link does not support IPv6 NAT (which is the only way to make IPv6 Load-Balancing work, because not a single customer here has a global-unicast prefix which is advertised to two different ISPs, because thats impossible)

Am I missing anything?

You're right.

For tplink gateway, IPv6 does not support failover because the lan is bound to the wan when setting up v6.
Load balancing doesn't work either, as you said, because NAT66 is not supported.

  @Virgo

thanks for confirming.

At least TP-Link could implement WAN-Passthrough failover, as this is a fairly simple task to do so and thanks to IPv6 this is working seemlessly (when you change your Passthrough-WAN all devices are updated like immediately without any interruption of service, so this feature should be a 1 story point task, ok make it 2 for manual testing)

Is someone from TP-link reading here or do we need to forward feature-requests?

  @RobertMEF You may not want to use IPv6 at the moment. Support is rather lackluster at the moment. There is currently no Ipv6 firewall support either. See the following.
