poor performing ax6000
Hey guys, just tried to upgrade by purchasing an ax6000 and replacing my ax55 with it...
so far my internet speeds are suffering badly, my ax55 latency use to be 2ms to speedtest.net and would get about 900/47.
the ax6000 has 5ms latency and only gets about 700/20
the ax55 use to struggle a bit uploading until i enabled QoS, but if i enable it on the ax6000 theres absolutely no change
I would hate to have to return this new router as i cant settle for slower speeds with what was meant to be a faster router...

@Hobba
after a bit more playing around ive managed to get it running at 940/30 with QoS off
and 560/47.5 with qos on at anywhere in between 800-2000 download and exactly 48.2 upload
it seems if i could disable QoS on downstream data and leave it enabled on upstream my issues would disappear except for the slightly higher latency

ive updated the firmware from the support page manually,
there are 2 versions there with different dates but identical version numbers.
still slow...
ive also noticed that if you don't select a device in the device priority list QoS stays off even if you switch it on.
ive tried disabling LACP (i need this on to get reasonable speeds from my NAS to wifi) no improvement
tried to set the 2.5g wan port (the whole reason i got this router) to 1g with no improvement.
the wifi range of this router has improved over my ax55 as i get almost twice the speed to my wifi range extender up from 100 to 180, but using a predominately wired network the wifi speed isn't as important to me.
I would have assumed a router with a 2.5gb wan port with link aggregation would be able to support a 2gbps internet conection but this router is struggling to support my 1000/50 connection.
am i missing something? is there some beta firmware for me to try? or should i return this device?

It has been recommended I place a smart switch in between my NTD and my router to shape upload speeds but not download speeds, is there any way we can get an option to shape upload speeds? just need an option to enable QoS on uploads and downloads separately then it will solve this downloads vs uploads issue...

@Hobba ...Who's your ISP ?

its NBN 1000/50 in Australia,
it has nothing to do with the isp as my old tp-link ax55 performed better with QoS on.
840/46 was what i was getting otherwise with QoS off it was 920/20.

Does tp-link plan to patch this firmware issue?
because if I cant get this resolved soon or see promise of it this router is going to have to be returned...
pretty simple, you just need to separate QoS for upload data and download data, you can do it with a $45 network switch between the wan port and the NTD...

Have TP-Link dropped support for the ax6000?
