Is there anyway we can bring bridge mode / IP Passthrough / Modem Only Mode to the Deco X80-5G ?

The features on the X80-5G Router are very limited. I.e. no VPN, VLANs, DMZ, etc. I wish to use my Ubiquiti Unifi Setup.

Currently I'm using a Netgear M5 5G Router, which is a portable mobile router, which offers far more advanced settings/configuration than the X80-5G.

I have bought two of these, combining a total of £1000, and I will have no choice but to return them should I not be able to use them as individual modems.

I don't expect a consumer mesh system to have loads of inbuilt advanced configuration settings, however it would be nice to use in Bridge Mode so I can utilise the 5G Modem only.

Bridge mode and VPN should be standard option in any TP-link router and/or modem-router device

No, unfortunately not. My feedback and subsequent requests were effectively ignored by TP-Link and I returned all the units purchased by my business.

We are now using Teltonika RUTX50 and Robustel R5020 modems :)

Hi Davy?, Thanks for the quick reply. I'm looking for a 5G modem as bridge as main usage. Most of the 5G Modems have only a 1 Gb and not a 2.5 Gb or higher connection. Looked at the Deco X80-5G as well. Will look at the Robustel R5020 as well. Kind regards, Oskar

@wolsos the TP-Link X80-5G is great if you plan on sticking with Deco Mesh. But if your needs are like mine and you already have a well established infrastructure then perhaps not.

we are using one X80-5G and 4x XE75 Pro 6Ghz Mesh, and that works flawlessly as a wireless network with limited functionality.

hope this helps.
