Model: TL-PA4020P KIT
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I have 2 x "TL-PA4020P(EU) Ver. 1.0" in my powerline network. Until some days, everything were ok. Now, tpPLC does not recognize one device as a TP-Link product and therefore, no menue is availale to update firmware, set the power safe mode etc.. I have read in this forum, that TP-Link uses the name to recognize if it is a TP-Link product or not - which name? Reset to factory default (press pairing for 15sec.) does not help.

Is there a possible to overwrite the firmware even if the tpPLC does not recognise the adaper a TP-Link product?

I have tried the following - without success

- downloaded the PLC Recovery tool from here: https://onedrive.live.com/?id=BF7A2B080563D705%21157&cid=BF7A2B080563D705

- paired the two adapters

- connected a laptop to the working adapter

- started the PLC Recovery tool, entered the MAC address of the unknown device, entered the NVM and PIB file of the firmware and started a scan. Result: no device to recover

The same happens if I connect the laptop to the unknown adapter.

On my FRITZ!Box7530 Web interface, the working adapter appears in the network list as PC-C0-4A-00-C7-4B-34 (PC-<MAC>) and in the detailed information tpver_402011_140208_001.

On my FRITZ!Box7530 Web interface, the unknown adapter appears in the network list as tpver-4B1B (a name defined by me) and in the detailed information tpver-TL-PA4020P-4B1B (name defined by me).

Is tpPLC using a name to recognize TP-Link products?
