Hi there,

Problem : When I switch my webcam's to fixed ip the devices cannot be accessed.

Context : I have the MR200 and then the network is then distrubuted around the house with some Ubiquiti UniFi Access Points running in Mesh mode.

They work perfectly fine on DCHP but when I switch them to a fixed IP, by using the preferred IP address,  I can not longer access then on the LAN.

Some odd things though when they are on a fixed IP : -

  • I can still see them through UniFi Network application
  • I can access them through the mobile native application, which is probably going externally me thinks.
  • I cannot access them though a browser.
  • I cannot ping them.
  • If I switch them back to DCHP everythin works fine.

I have spent hours on this problem so any help would be much appreciated!

  @TomCruise I have ran some more test and I do not have the issue if I connect directly, via wifi, to the MR200 router.

  @TomCruise

Hi, since there is no problem when connected the web cam to MR200 directly and use static IP, it seems the issue is caused by the mesh access point system.

It is recommended to contact the mesh access point support to confirm the issue. Or please provide us with the detailed network topology with IP address of each device.

By the way, the static IP address was configured on the web cam directly, or via address reserveration feature of MR200?

  @Sunshine The IP address was fixed by the router(MR200) which is why I am looking in this area first.  Very odd problem tbh.

  @Sunshine This is a snapshot of the topology, where the office-pro is plugged into the MR200 and the webcam are hanging off Lounge-LR.
