Model: Deco X20
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 1.0.2 Build 20220401 Rel. 63997

I have 2 networks created:  1- 2.4 / 5 ghz regular mesh network and 2- guest network which transmits at 2.4 and is used for IoT.  I want to create a 3rd network that runs only 5ghz.  I have tried to use the app, but it does not work as it is waiting for the Deco router to be placed in setup mode.  Am I missing something?

You can only have two networks with Deco X20 mesh. You can make Main Network 5GHz only and connect to Guest Network devices which can only work with 2.4GHz.

@Alexandre. Thanks for the quick reply and clarification.  You mention that this is not possible on the X20.  Which models do allow for additional networks?

The only special case I know of is Deco WiFi 6E capable devices: AXE11000 Deco XE200/Wi-Fi 6E Deco Mesh System

According to TP-Link FAQ, it appears on these devices one can create a third network that runs on 6GHz band only: How to Use the 6 GHz Band of Your Deco WiFi 6E System for Your Client Devices
