First off I am currently a Google Wifi user but I am finding the mesh network gets dropping and I have to reboot the mesh.  There is a long thread on the google support forum and it seems this has been going on forever with no solution.  So now I am looking at making the switch to TP-link and Deco.

Part of the reason for this is that I already own a couple of Powerline Adapters that I have used to reach places I cannot get my mesh to connect to (for example my external shed).  For these instances I use the Powerline to hardwire connect to one of my Google nodes.  This seems to work pretty well, but also seems to be affected by the network drops.

So now I am thinking about making the switch to either Deco X50 or X60.  I would still like to utilize my powerline stuff (even though it is OneMesh).  My plan would be to have the router in the basement with a switch connected to it.  The first node would be directly upstairs and would likely be strong enough to not require a wired connection.  I would still use my powerline stuff connecting from the router and to my shed where I would wire the 3rd node to create a wireless signal in the shed, and my second adapter would be used to create wired connections in my office where I also have a weak connection today.

Any thoughts on this before I start to make my purchases.  I know OneMesh is not compatible with deco, but in this case do I really need the onemesh as I am using the powerline adapters for is to make a wired connection to my nodes.

Thanks for your feedback

It wouldn't be possible to tell if your powerline adapters are compatible with Deco mesh backhaul, until you try. For that reason, I recommend buying Deco hardware from the retailer with return policy.

If they are compatible, Deco app will report node connected through the Ethernet, and if not - Deco node will automatically switch to WiFi backhaul even if Ethernet wired.

If you are choosing between X50 and X60, I recommend to go with X50. Deco X50 has newest firmware with features you may find useful: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/584954

There is also Deco X55, it is same as X50 and also has the latest firmware with new features.
