TL-MR6400 no internet on chromecast 2
TL-MR6400 no internet on chromecast 2
Hello all,
My recently bought tl-mr6400 ( v5.3 000002j works fine as a 4g router. Can connect to its WiFi with iPhone and iPad. So Internet is available.
The ISP of the sim (4g) is KPN, The Netherlands.
Than I connected a Chromecast 2 (NC2-6a5, of 2015) wireless to the router. Chromecast is connected via HDMI to TV.
Connection Chromecast to router itself succeeded. However... the Chromecast then gives 'no internet'.... Although at the same moment my other devices do have internet access via the same router. Also stated in the mngmt.dashboard: internet available + chromecast device connected.
Of course I checked '3 times' if everything is on same WiFi, sim has unlimited data etc. Have token also most logical steps as a not-specialist: router back to fabric settings, same for the chromecast, and tried guest network as well. But so far no result. Other options I didn't change cause not knowing their impact.
Someone an idea what might be wrong ?
PS
1)Till very recent this chromecast was coupled to the same tv, connected via WiFi via ISP (Ziggo) modem (connect box). Worked fine for years,
2)Considered to buy a more recent Chromecast gen 3 or 4 , but not sure if that will help, my gut feeling is this no-internet issue will stay without changing 'some setting'...
thanks for your help!

Hi, based on the screenshots, there is no Internet IPv4 address obtained on the MR6400, since internet still works on other devices, there must be IPv6 address.
Please go to Advanced->Network->Internet page, create a new profile manually and set PDP Type to IPv4 only, and leave other parameters the same as the default profile, then check if you will get Internet IPv4 address on Status page and if all the client devices will have internet access including the chromecast.

IT WORKS !!
Made a profile, now chromecast has connection via IP4, and other devices like iPhone and iPad do work at same time.
see prtscr for resp IP4 and IP6.
So thank you very very much @Sunshine !! My respect for your analysis and solution!!

Hi, may I have screenshots of Advanced->Status page and Advanced->Network->Internet page on web interface of your MR6400?
In addition, is your Chromecast using DHCP to obtain IP address automatically? or using static IP address and DNS servers? If it is using static address, please change it to DHCP to obtain automatically from the new router.

@sunshine, Well did not succeed in accessing the chromecast dhcp/dns settings. Googled as well, but not found another way how to. Will take other step instead, by connecting it to the WiFi network it was connected to for years, and then hope to see these settings. Will come back then
