re700x bug,
Hi,
I have a brand new re700x which is working Access Point mode with ethernet backhaul. in my last tests I can get full gigabit speed with 160mhz, can get 700mb/sec speed 80mhz
1. bug report; disable wps, and then check with wireless monitoring applications, you can see wps feature looks "yes" available,
2. channel select problem;
I can select between 36-52 channels but when try to select other(upper 52) not working,
software or hardware problem ? what is your comments, if is it software issue(I hope), are you planning to fix this, ? thx.

1. May I know which Wi-Fi monitoring application you are using? and may I have a screenshot when you disable the WPS on RE700X?
2. Your RE700X is EU version, right? If so, the 5G channel supports band 1, 2 and 3, but the band 2 and 3 (channel 52-140) are DFS channels, when you select DFS channel, according to regulation, Channel Availability Check is required. And during Channel Availability Check process, 5GHz signal is unavailable for connection.
During normal operations, if the AP detects a radar is using the particular channel which is currently AP using, then it may stop the transmission and change to another available channel. So please provide more details about the channel issue to confirm if it is normal or not.

@Sunshine Hi,
1. Might be possible to see wps looks active, Wifite2 which is wifi pentesting tool. You can see both screen shot below,
2. I'm using re700x EU version, I can successfully work over channel 52 long time, this is DFS channel. When I test 36-52 can work great, I know about the DFS regulations but, most of neigberhood and my isp wifi pruducts can successfully works over DFS bands in this area, for ex, 116, 136, 112 etc, leave a proof to below.
Many thanks for your attention,

Hi, on your RE700X, when you configure 5GHz channel upper 52, may I know if there is any error message? If so, please share with us the screenshot.
Or the settings can be saved but no client device can see the Wi-Fi signal?

Hi, thanks a lot for the reply.
1. For the WPS issue, could you please install WiFi Analyzer on an android phone and connect to the RE700X WiFi with WPS disabled? then please check encryption of the WiFi on WiFi analyzer to see if it shows WPS except for WPA2-AES encryption, share with us screenshot as well please
2. For the 5G channel issue, you mentioned that channel width can be set as 160MHz and it works, actually 160MHz covered the channel 52-64 as well, so please try to change the 5G channel to 52-64 and then wait for at least 1 minute to see if client devices could see it or not.

@Sunshine Hi,
1. Unfortunately I don't have any android devices, my AP configured for security:wpa2/wpa3-personal version:auto
2. 160mhz channel 52 (actually might allocate 36-64) it is ok clients can connect, but (100-128) still not possible,
lets clearify,
for 80mhz wide, 36(36-48) and 52(52-64) works perfect, 100 and higher not,
for 160mhz wide 36(36-64) works, 100 and higher not,
Thanks,

Hi,
1. For the WPS issue, after you disable WPS on the RE700X, no client device will be able to connect to it via either PIN or WPS button, you could also test it to double confirm it.
If that is true, WPS is indeed disabled. I've consulted our senior engineer, even though wps is disabled, the wireless management frame still has a wps field, that is why wps still shows yes on the application, but wps has actually been disabled, so please don't worry.
2. For the 5G channel issue, to assist you efficiently, I've forwarded your case to the TP-Link support engineers who will contact you with your registered email address later. Please pay attention to your email box for follow-up.
