Deco M4 V2 firmware 1.6.0
To Whom It May Concern,
Any update on the availability date of the 1.6.0 firmware version for the M4 V2, that includes functionality of the latest recently released firmware update for V4 ? Or as an alternative option for me to consider, where and how can I purchase a V4 version of the M4, considering that I am living in The Netherlands?
Thanks,
Jaap Houtman

I bought deco m4 v2 and instantly regretted my decision now just after few hours of use.
How is it logical to buy a mesh system if all satellites has to connect only to main ? That only adds a few meters of connection after the satellite only one time, as opposed to your advertisment of continuous connection from floor to floor...
You MUST release 1.6.0 for m4 v2 to enable use to costumise satellite source and choose the closest deco to it regardless of it being the main or not.

I fully agree with you. It is quite possible that there are different hardware versions of the M4, but these versions must be equivalent in terms of functionality and support. If this is not the case, the manufacturer, in this case TP-Link, must be very clear about this (in advance), otherwise it is guilty of misleading. In addition, the product's documentation should clearly state what functionality is provided and supported.

@JaapHoutman Once again, they've released an "in-between" update (version 1.5.8)

What exactly do you mean by "once again"? Does that mean a 1.6.0 is currently being worked on, if 1.5.8 is an "in-between" release? Is there also a 1.5.7 release?
What would be the point of only providing M4 V1/V2 with CWMP and Agile Config support?

@JaapHoutman I meant that after 1.5.5 update, we thought 1.6.0 would be the next update. Instead, we got 1.5.6.
Then I thought this time, it's gonna be 1.6.0. But no, we got 1.5.8.
Also, this update seems even useless than 1.5.6. I updated manually today, no visible changes so far

Thanks! Perhaps because TP-Link is unable to properly provide its Deco M4 V2 customers with a promised true functional firmware upgrade that it is willing to compensate customers with an M4 V2 Deco unit, by exchanging it for a M4 V4?!

@JaapHoutman Lol... that's never gonna happen
The main thing is that TP-link is lazy overall. They kept even the admins of the community in the dark about the updates, and almost 70% of the Deco models are being neglected

My sincere thanks for finally formally releasing version 1.5.8 for my M4 V2. A completely useless adjustment to the existing functionality, as was the case with firmware update 1.5.6.
It would be to your credit as TP-Link and it would also be high time that you as TP-Link take responsibility and fulfill your obligation to your customers to bring the M4 V2 up to the level of the M4 V4 (Deco 1.6.0 /1.7.0/1.1.0/1.2.0 Firmware Update).
As well as communicating with them about this in a professional manner as befits a software manufacturer and providing them with clear information about this.
Thank you.

@JaapHoutman still no update. Every other unit gets updates but not the m4 v2.

Thanks for the update. Any idea now what the reason could be? Because I rented my M4 V2 from my provider, I intend to cancel the rental of this M4 V2 and replace it with a purchased X10. Then I am immediately certain of purchasing the only current version of a Deco.
