Hello, thank you for posting on the TP-Link community, and we certainly appreciate all your feedback and feature request here.

While we don't have any specific details that I can share around if the feature you mentioned can come to the home routers, or when it might, I'll make sure to log this feature request and pass it along to the team.

I'm moving this conversation into the ‘Feature Request (Routers)' area for better visibility.

Feel free to let us know of any other feature requests you may have, we’d be happy to send them up for you.

I would also like to see this feature. I'm surprised it's not already built-in

I have a similar issue and @aerubik is not really asking for a new feature. What users like us are asking is a way to solve this issue using access control, routing rules, and/or firewall rules to achieve the same goal. That is, to ensure that if the vpn connection fails no devices can access the local internet directly. Please ask deep support resources and let us know the steps to create a kill switch via access control rules, firewall rules, and/or routing rules.

Yes, I think this feature is important to have. otherwise my devices can end up connecting to an unsafe network.

 I think such a feature for the security of VPN clients should be added to the functionality of the router

No idea why this isn't already a feature, thinking of selling my router and moving to ASUS router for a kill switch

@Sunshine

Indeed an important option for me too.

Will an update come out one day or we have to change routers?

Thanks in advance.
