Firmware Version:

Good Day

A client of mine has implemented a new dedicated Firewall (had some provider-device before,

that combines everything) and now his old network infrastructure (cabling) doesn't work anymore.

To be specific his WA901N in the second floor doesn't work (gets no IP from Firewall, cabling in walls is wrong) anymore.

I want to change this access points mode in second floor to range extender.

I also want to spare myself the driving, since it's 200km distance.

Would you have any input for me what I should watch out for when performing this change? Any special behaviour of the AP? I don't often work with APs, and never with tplink before..

Thank you in advance

  @Nyzeach

Here's a video guide on how to configure WA901N in Range Extender mode.

Here's a video guide on how to configure WA901N in Access Point mode.

It has only one ethernet port, so you can't go wrong with cabling.

Using WA901N in Range Extender mode could reduce the traffic bandwidth compared to AP mode.
