I need help choosing the most appropriate models to generate a wifi network in a house.

Description of the house:

The house has a floor plan of 9 x 6 meters but has 4 floors.

Attached is an image where you can see everything.

On floor 0 is the rack where the modem will be. (rectangle with M)

There is a lan wall socket on every floor.

Objective:

Protected Wifi network and protected guest Wifi network

Possible solutions:

I thought of: I thought of using the EAP 115 wall or EAP 235 wall APs as they have POE.

I know I need a switch with POE or a router with POE

My Questions:

How many APs do I need?

If I use a router with POE ports can I save AP in the vicinity of the router? In need of a poe switch, which model? Should it be managed?

Wich router would work best here?

Please, I ask for your help to choose the situation that consumes less energy and has the minimum necessary equipment, thus lowering costs.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I suppose you are targetting a mesh network for this premises.

There are two options involving PoE:

1) Using 3-pack Deco X50-PoE aither in router mode or AP mode - it depends on the (M)odem involving NAT or just a modem - details.

2) 3X Omada EAPs with an OC200 controller for building an Omada mesh network and a router (wired or with Wi-Fi disabled) if the (M)odem doesn't involve NAT - details.

In both cases you could use an unmanaged PoE switch like TL-SG1005LP.

Thank you very much for your reply.

:)

Sorry for beeing noob, but I am still trying to understand the setup.

I  have a modem with a single ip that provides every pc access to the internet through that ip.

So in the star setup like this one below, The two APs would have POE from the switch, right?

I think, this would be great since modem, router and switch could be on the center and the two APs would be wired just by lan to cover the bad spots.

Am I correct?

That's correct.

If you post the make and model of your modem it will be clear if it has a NAT and works as router or plain modem.

In case it's a router and it does NAT, then all 3 Decos could be powered and connected behind the switch in AP mode:

Thus you'll avoid a double NAT in your network.

If it's a plain modem you should use the diagram you've posted and again all 3 Decos (in router mode) could be powered by the switch.
