Model: RE505X
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.12 Build 20211107 Rel. 182157

Hi Guys,

I'm using a Archer AX73 (HW v2.0 - FW 1.0.8 Build 20230616 Rel. 65817(5553)) as main router and a RE505X (HW v1.0 - FW 1.0.12 Build 20211107 Rel. 182157) to create a mesh network.

Some time ago the extender was unable to connect using 5G and you recommended to fix the Wi-Fi channel in the router side, like 2.4G fix to Channel 1/6/11(just choose one of them, then 5G fix to Channel 36. This was done and it starts to connect with no problem. What I didn't paid attention is that it was disconnecting from the network, keeping 2.4G and 5G LEDs on, after few hours. I just discovered this because I connected a printer to RE505X Ethernet port.

After a FW reinstallation it stayed connect for almost 48hrs, and I believed problem was solved, but today it was needed so restart it tree times to be able to use the printer.

Please,can you help me with this issue?

Kind regards!!

  @BertranddaSilva

Hi, thank you very much for posting on TP-Link Community.

You mean the 2.4G and 5G LEDs are still on but the range extender has no internet access, right?

1. When the issue happens next time, please connect a computer to the extender LAN port and check IP address&default gateway of the computer to see if it is assigned by the main router or the extender:

How to find IP address on your devices

2. If the IP address of the computer is assigned by the range extender, please login the extender page and turn off DHCP Server on the extender to see if it helps.

  @Sunshine

Hi Sunshine, thanx for your answer!

I had already turned off DHCP server since device installation. What I did now is start to use a fixed IP address instead let it get one from router. Together with this, to avoid any problem, I reserved RE505X IP address on the router DHCP server. It's working for three/four days, since it's IP address was fixed.

Kind regards!!

I had problems similar to yours when installing AX73 (router) RE505(repeater). One detail that was going unnoticed was the 5g bandwidth coming from the router.

AX73 go to Wireless - 5GHz Channel Width - 20/40/80/160 MHz

From then on, the repeater and the router stopped having conflicts.

I hope i could help!

Hello  @RodrigoJM I'm using this same setup since devide installation. After last change, when I fixed RE505X IP address, it is disconnecting only once or twice a week. That is a little better, but isn't a solution.

Thank you for your help!!

Nice regards,
