Model: Archer AX6000
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.0 20221208 rel. 45145

Hi,

I have a setup where i need to use my network operators router as modem and then have my archer (with the network operators wifi being turned off).

I have paid for 500/500 MBIT but for some reason i only manage to get just below 200 mbits even when i connect cable to the Archer (actually the same speed on wifi). When i change the cable from my computer to the network operators router its upp to 500/500 again. This also occurs when i go into the official Tether app and initiate a speed test - turns out to be 500/500!

What can be the issue here?

If you have any bandwidth control or QoS configured on the AX6000 - disable all of these and test again.

If this was helpful click once on the arrow pointing upward. If this solves your issue, click once the star to mark it as a "Recommended Solution".

Hi again, for some reason its now down to 80-100 mbit in wifi. I havent changed anything except removing qos. Initially it worked and i got 500 mbit over wifi as well. Now i only get those numbers when checking speed through the tether app. what can be the issue now?

You maximum bandwidth on a wireless connecton depends on what wireless band you're connected at the moment.

To enjoy the full potential of your wireless speed you have to be connected on the 5GHz band and the wirless channel width should be 160Mhz.

You can check these parameters on your devices' wireless connection status. Here's a story which gives  some directions on that.

Here's an example of wireless settings that I am using:

Connect to your router by an ethernet cable to isolate wireless issue you have.

Set the wireless channel and channel width to "Auto", then test the wireless connectivity on 5Ghz band.

If everything is OK leave it as it is or else you can tweak these until you find the sweet spot for your wireless connection.

If that doesn't help reset the AX6000 to its factory defaults from the WebGUI or by the reset button and re-configure from scratch.

Remember - do not configure any QoS or bandwidth limiting settings.
