I have this model in my home and in my parents home. I have now had the Port 1 failure at both locations. Mine eventually started working again after going through the long painful "RMA" process, which was simply them sending me a refurbished unit that was equally defective. I have no answer as to how mine started working again. Just today, my parents unit failed on port 1. It was after a power outage. TP-Link has lost a customer if they don't recognize this as a widespread issue and do the right thing.

@AGMV Yep, same issue here. Port 1 died on my main unit a few months ago and now port 1 died on my satellite tonight. Spoke to customer service and they said its eligible for RMA if I can find the recipt from more than a year ago. Not looking good for getting it replaced and I didnt know it was this widespread. Going to stop recommending them to people.

Just had ANOTHER port 1 failure of an X75 satellite unit after I had to turn the power off to the upstairs of the house. If these units can't handle being turned off suddenly and they don't have a power button then they are not fit for sale.

I'm going to look into getting a refund.

Same on my XE75(1.0) 1.3.2 Build 20240119 Rel. 39178 but for me the solution was to block the client in question and then unblock it using the app.

The client was reachable even when the app said that it was blocked

@rogerthn wonder if that would work in the cases where the satellite deco doesn't connect as well. Obviously we can't see them in the client list but we could plug in a known client and try blocking and unblocking it to see if it fixes the port.

Another data point. Two-pack XE75, port 1 on the main unit simply failed in the middle of the night while I was online for work. Updating to latest firmware fixed nothing. Link and network activity are detected, but port simply doesn't work. I tried establishing a connection with my laptop on port 3 and then moving it to port 1 to see if maybe it was a DHCP issue, but no luck.

@AGMV I think given everyone's comments and experiences, it's safe to assume that these units are definitely flawed and were part of some engineering design flaw.  As I've been a long time customer, I hope that TP-Link learned from this error so it will NOT be seen again in any future products (even if they don't ever acknowledge the mistake).

FWIW - I think these were the first Deco's release with 3-ports instead of the usual 2, while switch ports are usually dumb ports, I wonder if the upgrade had anything to do with the problem.  Perhaps Port 1 blowing during power outages, saved the rest of the switches from blowing leaving us all with working units.

This expereince has truly been an inconvenience because it took trial and error (TIME) for each of us to figure out the real problem in order to understand work arounds that would not interfere with our networks.  I for one, was scratching my head in confusion and experiencing much frustration until I figured this out ESPECIALLY BECAUSE PORT 1 LIT UP AS CONNECTED EVEN THOUGH THEY REALLY WEREN'T.  Couple that with the fact that I recomended and installed this at over 15 homes, my vauable time was wasted twice, once to figure out the issue and again to return to those installed homes to fix their network issues (that I did not create).
