  @HC-User

I guess its a solution but I really dont want to do this everytime the port gets stuck. Its hardly a reliable network if at random one of your devices stops functioning.

  @HC-User I am intrigued by this answer because I always assumed it was a hardware defect. Hearing that you found a way to get Port1 to work again suggests a software firmware issue and I would hope that TP-Link could address once and for all. Anyone know how to share things findings with appropriate party to address?

  @HTS  It took weeks to go back and forth but TP-Link did honor swapping my deco devices out to brand new ones. Even though it was out of warranty I did firmly suggest based on this thread that this issue is significant for consumers. If I were you, I would submit a ticket for them to potentially explore swapping the devices out at no-cost. I did have to pay for shipping but the swapping out was fairly easy. FYI

Hey all. I ended up working with TP-Link support, and very politely worked my way up the chain to get two sets of two-node XE75 replacements, despite one of mine technically being "Out of Support", whatever that means. I made sure that the replacements were the version 2.6 models rather than the 1.6. I have them both up and running and returned the originals. They did end up charging me for a week while the originals shipped back, but I was refunded and am now only out the shipping cost. All told, I spent a rediculous amount of time troubleshooting the originals both at my house and my parents before giving up and asking for replacements. I'm happy enough now to not wish bad things to anything with a TP-Link logo on it...

I can confirm I have the same problem as many others here.

It all started with my main Deco port 1 failing. After a lot of work, I figured out a solution and swapped one of the other nodes over as the main node.

Now, I have three nodes. None of them have port 1 working. My last one just failed this week, and it was not the main Deco node, just a satellite.

I’m really struggling to see why I should keep them. Alas, I live in Norway, and maybe Ill try to get a new pair through the Consumer Purchase Act. We will see.

  @MrSkaar

I RMA'ed mine through the shop where I bought them, and then sold the replacement on a Marketplace.

Not gonna deal with this bull... and not gonna buy TpLink again.

Gl friend.

  @MrSkaar Alas, Norway? Their 5-year "warranty" is awesome at times like this!

I returned a pair to Elkjøp Tuesday, with one having a failed port. Wednesday they contacted me to offer money back or exchange. They don't have XE75's any more, so I suggested the nearest equivalent today is the BE65. The price difference was too great for a direct exchange, but when I (politely) pushed, they offered an additional 1000NOK off the ticket price. With what I originally paid for the XE75, I ended up paying something like 1000NOK total (~100USD) for a good upgrade.

So far I'm finding the BE65 surprisingly more responsive. I now suspect that some other unexplained network gremlins (random pauses, wifi disconnects during video meetings, etc.) were also down to the routers. Or maybe I'm in the honeymoon period... we'll see. Either way, the Norway Consumer Purchase Act rocks smiley.

Apparently I have the same issue with port 1 on AXE5300. I discovered it by accident when I temporarily moved my laptop to another room. After bringing it back I connected it to a random port and got connection issues. I don't even know when the port stopped working because I never used it, my laptop was always connected to the port 2. That sucks, because my Deco is hardwired and I only have 2 working ports now, both are occupied. I was planning on connecting a printer to this particuar Deco. I wonder if 2 other Decos have the same issue. If this is firmware related why won't TP-Link just fix it?

So, I'm next to have port 1 on all 3 of my XE75s fail within a couple of weeks. I would

be very surprised if this is a hardware problem, as they can be made to work, sometimes.

This is shocking behaviour from TP Link and it's about time some kind of official position was established. Either thr firmware needs to be updated or there is a serious design flaw.

Either way, I will be trying to get a refund and avoiding TP Link equipment in future. This is totally unacceptable for expensive technology that is not fit for purpose

@be11aml given their lack of action on this, I'm not buying TP-Link in the future and I'm recommending everyone I know the same.

Nowadays there are much better options within acceptable price range.

What impresses me is that I have never in my life seen an ethernet port fail.
