For now, if you need to limit the internet access time of kids' devices, you could use Access Control Blacklist first to block client devices when necessary. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused
Note: If your device model is not listed above but has similar issues with parental control, the cause would be different, please start a new thread to provide more details.

X20 on the newest firmware and it still doesn't block any websites added to the block list wildcards or not. What is the ETA on a fix?

@Sunshine I have had similar issues with HomeCare Parental Conrol on my Archer C3150 V2.
The new firmware fixed the parental control but destroyed the stability on everything else.
I had to downgrade to V2_170927 from V2_220919 (twice)
Has there been issues with other models?
Best regards
Arild

For AX50 1.0.13 Build 20230907 rel.67739 issue needs to be addressed URGENTLY website blocking does not work. eg. when I add only discord dot com (posting does not allowing me to have period com says has links you hope you can understand this) to filter content and add a fixed mac device to block it does not work instead it blocks youtube dot com and tik tok which doesn't even exist in filter content WHY? and my another another android app also stops working WHY?.
You can easily replicate this issue. Please get back with solution for this ASAP. We bought this expensive router to use for atleast 8-10years. and why Homecare features depends on your server I dont understand when it should be router in built right?

I can confirm the above post, I created a new child profile as shown below, and had full access to facebook and the famous p***hub adult website. I then clicked pause and the connection was paused so I am connecting to the right profile.

@Sunshine I have updated to the new firmware on my Archer AX50 v1.0, 1.0.13 Build 20230906 rel.40682. My parental controls are still erasing themselves. It un-checkes all my time controls. Basic info an Filter Level is remembered but Time control settings are not saved.

Unfortunately with the latest fw updates on my P7, parental control suddenly does not work when I'm programming the automated timeframe routines?
I can block complete internet acces manually, but the Deco's wont activate a complete block when automatic timeframes are used for bedtime and weekends.
Rebooting the complete Deco network did not have any affect.
Is it possible to easily downgrade to an earlier version since all was working well before?

@Sunshine Is there any news regarding this version of firmware and the trouble it creates with several types of routers - including my Archer C3150(EU) ? https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/642636
Is there a new and fixed firmware to be released soon?

This is going on so long now with my Archer C5400X V1.0 that I am about to ditch the product entirely, and buy a competitors product. I now have a $300 gaming router with no parental controls!
I bought the unit because of the parental controls, and now have no control whatsoever. I have done all the latest updates. No improvement, no meaningful communication update.
What is going on TP Link? FIX THIS!!!!!!

I have a ArcherC5400X v1.0 running the latest firmware 1.1.6 Build 20231010 rel.31905(5553)
I have the same issue. The parental controls don't appear to work AT ALL.
This is a critical part of the router's functionality for families. From what I can see this issue has been recognized and has been going on for 3 months. Can you please let us know if the engineering team has at least understood the root cause of the issue, and any timeline on the fix?
I agree with one of the other posters: If this functionality that was advertised as a feature of this product does not work AT ALL, then I will have to choose another router and boycott TPlink products, which is too bad because I've used many of your products over the years.
Given the situation I think a class action may be warranted as well. If other users here are of the same mind please reply, perhaps we can start some legal action.
