I have an Archer AX72 as my main router. I also have three Deco E4R that I'm planning to use to extend the wi-fi coverage in our house. I don't to mess up my network with trial and error so my questions are: 
 

1. Will it work if I set the Deco E4R in AP mode and connect it to the Archer AX72?

 

2. If yes, do I still need to connect one Deco unit to the main router via ethernet to serve as the main AP for the other two units or is it possible to have all 3 Deco units connected wirelessly to the main router?

1.Yes, it will work if you set the Deco in AP mode.

2.The main Deco should be wired to the main router - see the details here.
