Model: Archer MR500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.0 0.9.1 v0001.0

I am trying to set up Remote Management of the router.

1/

************************************************

This is from the Administration page:

http://10.133.172.29

or

http://home-annexe-mr500.tplinkdns.com

ICMP Ping: Remote Local - both checked

2/

************************************************

And from the Network/Dynamic DNS page:

Current Domain Name: home-annexe-mr500.tplinkdns.com

3/

************************************************

The router's WAN IP address is 10.133.172.29.

************************************************

The problem is I cannot ping or connect to the IP address or to the DDNS name. As a matter of fact, the DNS home-annexe-mr500.tplinkdns.com resolves to [92.40.212.206] which is not correct. I am not sure where it gets that address from.

Is there any way I can administer this router remotely ?

Hi, the 10.133.x.x. WAN IP is a private IP Address, and DDNS domain name is bound to real public IP address, that is why are they are different.

The problem now is that you are behind your ISP CGNAT, thus the remote web management will not work, you will need to contact your ISP to see if they could assign you a public IP address.

@Sunshine Ah I see, my ISP has got me on a private IP address not visible outside. This is an LTE/4G connection so I do not think I can ask them for a public IP address :)

It means if I need to configure the router I will have to be connected directly to it, which is a pain.

For the remote web management, you are correct.

However, the MR500 also supports Tether App management, and if you bind your MR500 to a TP-Link ID, then you will be able to manage it remotely via Tether App, which is based on TP-Link cloud.

To bind it to your TP-Link ID, please go to Basic->TP-Link Cloud page on web interface or Tools->TP-Link ID on Tether App.
