Pretty much what's in the subject.


Log into controller "System Settings" page, Hardware Controller section. Select "Browse", select the unzipped firmware image (OC200v1_un_1.26.3_20230906_rel36269_up.bin) -> "Upgrade" -> Confirm "Upgrade". It spins for awhile (several minutes), then nothing- just back to the upgrade modal dialog. Unit doesn't upgrade, doesn't reboot. 


There are no events in the controller log.
 


I have rebooted the device, and tried two different browsers (MS Edge and Firefox).

P.S. - Please start including hashes of the firmware files!

Opening browser dev tools there's a lot of "errors" and such,

after the POST to https://{LocalIP}/{SomeGUIDLikeId}/api/v2/files/manualUpgrade after 10 minutes final response in NS_BINDING_ABORTED, but while waiting for that you get
the occasional POST to  https://{LocalIP}/{SomeGUIDLikeId}/api/v2/alerts/num?_=1697215341860

I've tried using the android mobile app, clicking on "Firmware Upgrade" only gives "Omada Server Error".

1 - No, controller wasn't bricked, nor even in a bad state. It simply wouldn't attempt the upgrade.

2 - Yesterday I started having lots of "slowness" that was dropped packets, even between client and all the omada components: Controller, router, direct to APs...

I methodically rebooted each one separately, and it was only after the last AP rebooted that everything was "fixed". On a hunch, I then tried the firmware update to the controller, (same exact process, no changes), and it completed first try!?!

Super weird/concerning that a misbehaving AP (that I wasn't connected through) could interfere w/ the controller like that.

You could take a backup, reset then try update and restore.   Its a brutal way of doing it, but might work?

It seems OC200 became bricked after the firmware was upgraded.

Please try the recovery mode following this link.

I just tried to upgrade last night  using the automated upate within the oc200 interface, and end up with page not found after reboot.

 

Reset everything and even downgraded back at least 4 firmware versions

 

I get perm cloud light flashing and the second ethernet port light flashes even though i have nothing connected to it.

The only page i can ever get is the recovery page.

Did the firmware recovery process solve your issue?

I eventually got mine back after about 2 hrs of trying had to revert back about 4-5 firmware version to bring it back to life with full reset and then like  previous reply it upgrade to latest firmware on first attempt.

and I was doing this via lan cable,   I've yet to reset my ap's becuase they are currently adopted with old config, guess I should have backed up, but I'm betting  if I had loaded it back in it would break.
